An Evening of (Mostly) Original Songs and Poems with Jim Armstrong and Friends
Friday, May 19, 2017, 7:00PM
An evening of songs and poems inspired by the hard-scrabble life of sharecroppers and factory workers in the Ohio River Valley during the Great Depression and the Second World War. Jim Armstrong has taken the story of his grandfather and put it to music—played on the Gibson guitar his his grandfather bequeathed him. The performance will feature musicians Scott Lowery and Jim Reineke and will include traditional tunes from the time period.
