Slow Art Jam with Heather Casper
Tuesday, August 22nd 6:30-7:30 pm
Free, but registration required
Just like a musical slow jam, we're going to slow things down at this program and spend one hour at one artwork. Curator of Education, Heather Casper, will guide visitors in interactive looking as they examine the painting A View of Boston (1837-39) by Thomas Cole. This deep dive into Cole's painting will allow participants the time to make personal connections and discoveries that are difficult to achieve in the typical 6-10 second average time span museum visitors look at an artwork. No previous knowledge of art, or art history necessary. Call (507) 474-6626 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
Please note, that this program occurs towards the end of our weekly "Mississippi Sippin'" Event from 5-7pm every Tuesday on the Museum's Riverwalk. Come early for a beverage and then come inside for the slow jam!
