The Minnesota Marine Art Museum serves as an educational resource for area colleges and universities. Whether through self exploration or guided tours, MMAM strives to help build well-rounded citizens and make connections to the classroom through access to art.
The museum is available for docent-led group tours, self-guided tours or to be accessed on their own time for an assignment. Only guided tours need to be booked in advance.
Student admission is $3, groups of 10 or more are $2. All students are free on Tuesdays.
Pencils, boards and stools are available for use anytime.
No ink pens, photography, food or beverages are allowed in the galleries.
The Bus Is on Us free bussing program, available through a grant from Winona Foundation may apply to college field trip!
College Students can tour the museum in one of three ways
1. Guided Tours
Guided tours are one hour in length, and generally focus on collection highlights, but can be tailored to fit your curriculum when possible.
Available to groups of college and university students of ten or more.
Tours must be scheduled three weeks in advance.
Guided tours are always $2 per student and professors are free (even on Free Student Tuesdays).
2. Self-Guided Group Tour
College groups can visit the museum at any time for a self-guided tour without booking in advance.
Individual student rate is $3, but groups of 10 or more are $2 per student. Students are always free on Tuesdays (unless it is a guided tour).
3. Class Assignments
Send your students to MMAM on their own time for a class assignment.
