Introducing the Richard and Jane Manoogian Gallery:
Opening this fall is the Richard and Jane Manoogian Gallery, with an expanded exhibition of Hudson River School masterworks. This Museum expansion is the largest in the MMAM's history, adding 4,000 square feet of main gallery space for the exhibition of the Museum's American collections, which is one of the finest in the U.S.
The MMAM is home to some of the highest quality collections of art in the Midwest. The Museum's newly redesigned collections highlights include masterpieces Picasso, Matisse, Van Gogh, Monet, Gauguin, J.M.W. Turner, Cassatt, Cézanne, O'Keeffe, Homer, Cole, Wyeth, and many more.
Revisiting Twain's Mississippi:
New Photographs by Chris Faust:
St. Paul photographer Chris Faust's work investigates the intersection of humans and nature, and is considerably inspired by the Mississippi River environment. At the MMAM, Faust will exhibit works from several of his projects, including recent images captured following in the footsteps of 19th century photographer Henry Peter Bosse.
Carved by the River:
Woodcut Prints by Nick Wroblewski:
"Carved by the River" is the finale of the Museum's Woodcut Print Series, and is the first solo museum exhibition of emerging Viroqua, WI, artist Nick Wroblewski. Showing an impressive range, Wroblewski's work is at one moment quietly mystical and at another, boldly majestic. The artist has numerous prints for sale at the MMAM Store as well as the upcoming MMAM Print Fair.
William Bradford and the Arctic:
William Bradford (1823-1892) was one of the first American artists to explore and paint the Arctic Regions, culminating in several large masterpieces and the book, "The Arctic Regions" originally published in 1873. Experience Arctic-inspired work by Bradford and several marine painters who followed in his footsteps.
