Second Saturdays in 2018 have ended - Thank you for making Second Saturdays a success!
Last November, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum was thrilled to learn that we were awarded an arts access grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, to collaborate with the community to co-create eight accessible art program days called Second Saturdays. We offered eight Second Saturday programs from March through October and saw 4,001 people!
“I want to offer a HUGE thanks to everyone who participated in a Second Saturday program. It was a colossal success! Thanks to hundreds of surveys, countless conversations, and many crunched numbers, we have learned a lot about how and why people visit this museum and it will make a huge impact on the way we will create and offer programs to our community going forward. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
Curator of Education, Heather Casper
We are so grateful to the Minnesota State Arts Board for funding Second Saturdays in 2018 and we look forward to learning if we have received this grant again for 2019. Grantees will be announced mid-to-late November. If awarded, Second Saturdays at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum would re-launch in February of 2019.
