Spiritual Offerings: Photographs by Douglas Beasley

January 8 - APril 10, 2016

Spiritual Offerings highlights photographs by prominent St. Paul (MN) photographer, teacher and author Douglas Beasley.  Beasley’s personal vision explores the spiritual aspects of people and place and is concerned with how the sacred is recognized and expressed in everyday life. Featured are photographs from his global travels including Japan, China, Ireland, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Italy, Norway, Japan, and China as well as regional images including those from the Trade River Retreat Center, the artist’s cabin and retreat center in Northwest Wisconsin.

Beasley is a celebrated photographer who is educated in both Eastern Religions and Native American culture. As is the founder of Vision Quest Photo Workshops, Beasley guides photographers to find their own personal and creative expression over the mechanics of camera use. His personal work is widely exhibited, collected and published. In 2010, he completed a permanent installation at the Castillo D’Albertis Cultural Museum on Sacred Places of North America. His most recent book, Earth Meets Spirit, was published by 5 Continents Editions (Milan, Italy).

Opening reception Thursday, January 28 from 5-7pm.
